Symptoms

PA/IVS normally affects the infant within the first few days after birth. The following are the most common symptoms of PS/IVS; however, children experience symptoms differently:

A bluish color to the skin (cyanosis)
Rapid and/or difficult breathing
Irritability
Drowsiness
Low oxygen levels in the blood
Heart murmurs, or abnormal heart sounds
