Pulmonary Atresia

Symptoms

PA/IVS normally affects the infant within the first few days after birth. The following are the most common symptoms of PS/IVS; however, children experience symptoms differently:

  • A bluish color to the skin (cyanosis)
  • Rapid and/or difficult breathing
  • Irritability
  • Drowsiness
  • Low oxygen levels in the blood
  • Heart murmurs, or abnormal heart sounds
