Referring a patient

Minnesota

The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic welcomes patient referrals to all of its programs and for comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluations. You may refer a patient in several ways:

• Daytime. During business hours — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday — contact the Psychiatry and Psychology Appointment Office at 507-266-5100.
• Evenings and weekends. After business hours or for referrals not related to psychiatry, contact the Referring Physician Office at 800-533-1564 (toll-free), 24 hours a day, seven days a week. An appointment secretary will call the referring physician back between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central time.
• Online. Use Mayo Clinic Online Services to refer a patient, using a secure environment available from any location.

Arizona and Florida

Please note: Appointments in Psychiatry and Psychology are only available to patients who are referred by their Mayo Clinic physician.
