Scottsdale/Phoenix offers a rich selection of music, art and theatre. It boasts over 125 art galleries, the Scottsdale Civic Center, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and is home of the Scottsdale Symphony Orchestra.

Many museums can be found in the area, ranging in subject from contemporary art to American Indians to the Air Force.

Scottsdale/Phoenix is home to several professional sports teams. Fans can cheer on the Phoenix Coyotes (NHL), Arizona Cardinals (NFL), Mercury (WNBA) Phoenix Suns (NBA), AZ Rattlers (Arena Football) and Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB). Greater Phoenix also provides two NASCAR Nextel Cup races (every April and November), and Indy Racing League action each March.

Take a day trip to explore the nearby Grand Canyon—only a 4 to 5 hour trek from Scottsdale.

The area has 58 miles of bike paths and 40 miles of shared hiking/riding paths for residents to enjoy.
