Peptic Ulcers

Treatment

The aims of peptic ulcer treatment are to relieve pain, reduce the level of acid in your digestive system, encourage healing and prevent complications. Main treatments are medications and lifestyle changes (quitting smoking and limiting caffeine and alcohol).

If your ulcer is bleeding, you may need treatment for gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, which might include surgery.
