Pediatric White Cell Disorders

Monocyte Disorders

Produced in a child's bone marrow, monocytes dispose of dead or damaged tissue and regulate the body's immune response to foreign material. A reduction in the number of monocytes may be caused by disorders of the immune system, hereditary disease or cancer. Treatment for monocyte disorders varies based on the cause.
