Pectus Excavatum

Diagnosis

While diagnosis is generally not difficult, your doctor may order imaging and other tests to assess the severity of the deformity and its effects on heart and lung function and to plan for surgical correction.

Blood testing could be recommended if the doctor suspects a hereditary disorder, such as Marfan's syndrome, may be causing the deformity.
