Care of Your Back

Care of Your Back is a 60-minute class offered in the Patient Education Center. After completing this class, you should be able to do the following: Describe the normal structure and function of the back.

• Describe the structures and function of the back.
• Develop plan to protect the back from stress and injury.
• State first aid measures to alleviate back pain and know when to call a health care provider.

This is a single-session class. It includes classroom instruction, a video presentation, class discussion and an opportunity to ask questions. You will receive a packet containing a summary of class content and other related materials for future reference.

Register by calling (507) 284-8140 or by making an appointment at the Patient Education Center reception desk. SPE programs are offered Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and can be scheduled to fit with your other clinic appointments.
