Mayo MedAir — International Air Transport
Mayo MedAir is capable of flying worldwide to bring patients to Mayo Clinic campuses in Minnesota, Arizona, Florida, other health care facilities, or to the patient's home area, when possible. Mayo MedAir has transported patients from Chile, France, Greece, Holland, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Monaco, New Zealand, Oman, Portugal, Venezuela and many other international sites.
Mayo MedAir transports all patients, even the critically ill or injured. The medical team is selected based on the patient's needs and may include critical-care nurses, paramedics, pediatric and neonatal specialists, doctors, respiratory therapists or other health care professionals who follow Mayo Clinic medical protocols. Generally, a two-person team accompanies the patient.
Mayo Emergency Communications Center specialists will handle all the details of a patient's air medical travel to Mayo Clinic, making arrangements as easy as possible for health care professionals, the patient and family. Mayo's certified medical dispatchers can help patients identify a receiving doctor when necessary.
U.S. Customs is available at International Airport locations, including Rochester. Once patients arrive at Mayo Clinic, there is access to interpreter services for virtually every language.
