Extremely specialized tests not available locally may be obtained from Mayo Medical Laboratories in Rochester, Minn., via overnight courier.

Outside-referred clinical laboratory tests for patients are available. The department also offers consultations for setting up, staffing, purchasing and evaluating equipment and selecting the test repertoire for physicians' office laboratories.
