Pancreatic Cancer

Total Pancreatectomy

This procedure is performed infrequently today because lifelong adverse effects may result. In this surgery, surgeons remove the entire pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder, and spleen, and possibly portions of the small intestine, stomach and nearby lymph nodes.
