After your pancreas transplant, you should make exercise and physical activity a regular part of your life to continue improving your overall health and fitness. Exercising regularly helps you control your weight, control your stress, strengthen your bones, improve your physical functioning and increase your energy.
Immediately after your transplant, you should walk as much as you can. After your transplant, your doctor will recommend that you incorporate physical activity into your daily life, including participating in 30 minutes of moderate exercise (brisk walking) five days a week. Walking, bicycling, low-impact strength training or other activities may help you improve your health.
