Osteosarcoma

Treatment of Children

Children who come to Mayo Clinic receive inpatient care at Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital in Minnesota, a state-of-the-art, family-friendly facility within Saint Marys Hospital. Pediatric patients and their families experience comprehensive care.

In Florida, pediatric oncologists from Nemours Children's Clinic and surgeons from Mayo Clinic work as a team to provide the care that's best for the child.

In general, osteosarcoma treatment options for children are the same as for adults. Patients can participate in clinical trials and receive that latest treatment advances. Specialists spend time with each family answering questions and developing individualized treatment plans based on the patient's needs. Highly trained specialists provide rotationplasty and other limb-salvage techniques and access to innovative treatment options through clinical trials.

Treatment Team

Specialists in Pediatric Oncology, Orthopedic Oncology, Vascular Surgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation evaluate and treat children with osteosarcoma. Physicians and researchers are committed to developing and providing the latest advances.
