Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

Research

Mayo Clinic researchers have helped advance obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) treatment techniques. Areas of research include:

  • Continuing to study the effectiveness of a five-day intensive treatment program that makes treatment more accessible for children and their families
  • Conducting brain imaging studies to gain a better understanding of the effects of treatment on brain structure and function in people with OCD
  • Developing assessment procedures for anxiety
  • Developing short-term treatments for childhood emotional and behavioral problems
