The Urogynecology Continence Clinic has a team of individuals with a special interest in the needs and treatment of women with urinary incontinence. The team includes bladder retraining specialists, gynecologists, nurse specialists, surgeons specializing in urology and gynecology, and research scientists. They work with patients to establish a diagnosis and treatment plan.

What can patients expect?

  • Initial incontinence consultation and pelvic examination with a urogynecology continence specialist
  • Bladder testing to help the health care team establish a diagnosis and treatment plan
  • Education in bladder care habits that promote normal bladder function
  • Information about the different types of incontinence and recommended treatment options
  • Follow-up contact with a team member to evaluate patients' progress and make adjustments, as needed

Urinary incontinence can be a sensitive and potentially embarrassing condition. Patients can expect respect and understanding from the urogynecology team throughout all stages of treatment.
