Nurse Camp at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is a weeklong program that gives high school students a chance to learn what nursing is all about.
The program will not be offered in 2013.
Students can expect to shadow registered nurses in patient care areas, attend interactive talks, and enjoy games and adventures. Program participants also take part in hands-on simulations in both the emergency department and surgical areas.
There is no cost to attend Nurse Camp, though enrollment is limited and students must commit to attend all five days.
