| Treating chronic pain in children
Sherilyn W. Driscoll, M.D., discusses the changes in how physicians approach persistent pain in pediatric patients. Instead of looking at pain as simply a warning sign for an underlying disorder, many physicians are now choosing to focus on and treat the pain itself.
Mayo physicians develop minimally invasive treatment for tennis elbow
Highly invasive surgery requiring a 2-inch incision used to be the only treatment for chronic elbow pain. Using a focused aspiration of scar tissue procedure called FAST, Mayo physicians can now treat the diseased tendon without disturbing the healthy tendon tissue.

Despite proven benefits, few oncologists suggest exercise for cancer patients
Exercise can provide multiple benefits for cancer patients, including improved mobility, decreased cancer-related fatigue and improved sleep. In a recent study, Mayo researchers examine how frequently cancer patients receive guidance about exercise to help maintain functionality and improve outcomes.
Can using electronic media improve traumatic brain injury care in underserved locations?
Mayo Clinic and collaborators in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota will test new ways to provide specialized traumatic brain injury care to patients in underserved rural and urban areas.
