SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — U.S. News & World Report has again named Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona to its annual list of "Best Hospitals." Mayo Clinic in Arizona ranked in the top 50 in two specialties Geriatrics (#24) and Nephrology (#34).

The latest rankings showcase 720 hospitals out of about 5,000 nationwide. Best Hospitals 2011-12 ranks hospitals in 16 specialties. Though not in the top 50, the Arizona campus was also recognized for excellence in the specialties of Cancer; Diabetes & Endocrinology; Ear, Nose & Throat; Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Geriatrics; Neurology & Neurosurgery; Orthopedics; Pulmonology; Rheumatology and Urology.

In addition to the U.S. News ranking Mayo Clinic recently received other national recognitions including: the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles, sponsored by the National Business Group on Health's Institute on Innovation in Workforce Well-being in Washington,D.C.;and Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona scored high marks for safety, earning an "A" Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits.
