WHO: Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway will visit Mayo Clinic in Rochester as part of a tour of Minnesota and Iowa. Their Majesties will be greeted by John Noseworthy, M.D., president & CEO of Mayo Clinic, Shirley Weis, CAO of Mayo Clinic, and Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede.
WHERE: Gonda Building, Street Level.
WHEN: Friday, Oct. 14, 4 p.m. Central time.
WHAT: Photo opportunity for news media: Arrival at Mayo Clinic with greeting by Dr. Noseworthy and Ms. Weis, and welcome by Mayor Brede. Delegation will tour the Gonda Building, street level for an art passage with Mayo Clinic leaders and Mayo art program coordinator.
Photo opportunity during portions of the art passage and at the start of meeting with Mayo Clinic staff. News media may stay for presentations given by Mayo Clinic specialists, but NO CAMERAS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE PRESENTATIONS. News media should arrive no later than 3:45 p.m.

The first visit from this royal family to Mayo Clinic came in 1939, when Crown Prince Olav visited on a goodwill trip to the United States on the eve of World War II. The 1939 visit was the first visit of European royalty to Mayo Clinic.
