BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Create Your Mayo Clinic Health Experience at Mall of America opened today. The new space is a health laboratory designed for new exploration in health and wellness. Guests will be able to complete a wellness assessment, speak with trained health experience navigators to discuss wellness goals and strategies to achieve them, and access resources to ensure health and wellness can be a part of their every day lives.
"What differentiates this space is that it's totally customized, allowing you to do as much or as little as you want. Whether stopping in to buy a book and leave, registering to further personalize your experience, or even meeting privately with a health experience navigator, this is truly a customized experience," says David Hayes, M.D., a cardiologist at Mayo Clinic who is leading the Mall of America project. "Create Your Mayo Clinic Health Experience is a partnership between you and Mayo Clinic to improve your health and well-being."
Dr. Hayes adds that Mayo Clinic leaders know that to meet peoples' needs in the future, healthcare providers must consider new ways to care for patients. Create Your Mayo Clinic Health Experience is not a clinic, but is instead a place for guests to define wellness goals, access information, and use resources dedicated to their health.
Create Your Mayo Clinic Health Experience is located on the first level near the East Market Rotunda. In addition to the interactive spaces, retail offerings are available to help guests achieve their wellness goals. These offering are paired with the themes of discover, move, eat well, relax, and sleep. All of the health experience resources, including wellness kiosks, symptom checker and augmented reality, are free of charge. Click here for a video to learn more.
Mayo Clinic will continue its health and wellness programs at Mall of America, including the ongoing "Mayo Clinic Mile" walking paths and a children's health fair scheduled for Saturday, August 13.
Mayo Clinic's Arizona, Florida and Minnesota campuses, including Mayo Clinic Health System, will remain the patient-focused care centers that have been the hallmark of Mayo Clinic for more than 100 years. Both Create Your Mayo Clinic Health Experience and the possibility of a permanent facility as part of the Phase II Mall of America expansion will complement these locations by providing convenient, day-to-day services to improve health and well-being, as well as offering direct connections to Mayo Clinic.
