WHO: Mayo Clinic Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Family Medicine, Anesthesia, and Pediatrics and Neonatology multispecialty teams forming the Mayo Clinic Family Birth Center.
WHAT: The new birth center will officially open on Oct. 13, 2010. It will provide a secure, calm and comfortable space defined by private labor and delivery rooms. Amenities will include hydrotherapy for labor, contemporary furniture and décor of soothing colors to create a supportive and welcoming environment.
The multispecialty team will provide personalized care for mom, baby and family. Team members include nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives and physicians. The staff will host an open house and tour of the facility. The tour is open to the public.
WHERE: Eisenberg Lobby of Rochester Methodist Hospital. Tours to view the labor and delivery area will be offered every 15 minutes.
WHEN: Monday, Oct. 11, 2010; tours from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
