WHAT: Safety in Ice Hockey event is sponsored by the Rochester Youth Hockey Association (RYHA), Rochester Hockey Foundation and Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center. Coaches assigned after the symposium or otherwise unable to attend will be required to review the material on DVD, complete accompanying questions, and submit them to the RYHA.
The objective of the program is to inform coaches about injuries; share information about body checking while playing competitive sportsmanlike hockey and inform attendees about programs in place to ensure fair play; and prompt discussion and interaction on concerns coaches may have regarding injury scenarios.
