KENYON, Minn. — Kenyon Clinic — part of Mayo Clinic Rochester Family Medicine, will become part of Cannon Valley Clinic — Mayo Health System, on April 1, 2009.
"After reviewing the medical needs of Kenyon and discussing those needs with Cannon Valley Clinic, this change allows us to not only meet those needs but also to grow the services locally," says Matthew Bernard, M.D., Interim Chair of Mayo Clinic Rochester Family Medicine.
Cannon Valley Clinic will provide increased services to the community, such as expanded physician level care, more options for chronic disease care and additional office hours. Board-certified family medicine physician, Paul Jacobson, M.D., will be at Kenyon Clinic three to four days a week. Currently physician services are available one day per week.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the Kenyon community," says David Beckmann, M.D., Cannon Valley Clinic Chief Executive Officer. "As part of the Mayo family, patients in Kenyon can receive the vast majority of their health care locally, and if they need more specialized care, Mayo Clinic in Rochester will be one option, along with other medical facilities."
"The transition should be seamless for patients and their families," said Jodie Boone-Orke, Kenyon Clinic Administrator. "As always, our focus and priority will be our patients."
Cannon Valley Clinic was established by Mayo Health System in 1995 and provides a full range of general health care and specialty services to patients in Faribault and the surrounding communities.
Mayo Health System is a network of clinics, hospitals and other health care facilities serving more than 70 communities in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. It links the expertise of Mayo Clinic with health care providers in local communities to offer patients comprehensive health care options. More than 2.5 million patient visits take place annually at Mayo Health System facilities.
