What: Mayo Clinic will host the second Annual T. Denny Sanford Pediatric Symposium, a pediatric continuing medical education program developed in conjunction with Sanford Children's Hospital at Sanford Health, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Who: This symposium is intended for primary care clinicians in the region, including primary care pediatricians, family physicians, physician-associates, and nurse practitioners who care for children or adolescents in primary care settings including acute care facilities.

Why/How: T. Denny Sanford, a self-made businessman, describes himself as a philanthropic investor. Recognizing Mayo's commitment to excellence, he says, "I invest in things that are successful." As result of his philanthropy, the Mayo Clinic T. Denny Sanford Pediatric Center, located on the 16th floor of the Mayo Building, was named in his honor. In addition, through a generous endowment, Mr. Sanford supports collaborative research and education initiatives between Mayo Clinic and Sanford Health,Sioux Falls, S.D., including this symposium, held in Sioux Falls and Rochester alternately. Sanford Health is named in honor of Mr. Sanford in recognition of his generous spirit and philanthropy to the health system.
