Mayo Clinic presents the annual Meditation and Memorial Concert

The Rose Ensemble to perform for Harmony for Mayo

Monday, November 12, 2007

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Rose Ensemble of St. Paul, Minn., will perform a special evening concert entitled "Slavic Wonders: Feasts and Saints in Ancient Moscow, Prague and Krakow."

Date: Monday, Nov. 19, 2007

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Saint Marys Hospital Chapel, first floor of the Domitilla Building, 1216 Second Street S.W.

Cost: The event is free and open to the public.

Presented by Mayo Clinic Center for Humanities in Medicine, the Meditation and Memorial Concert is offered each year as a time of commemoration and contemplation for listeners. This year's program, created by The Rose Ensemble artistic director Jordan Sramek, will blend haunting tales of folk heroes and saints of old to connect listeners to the spirituality and humanity of ancient traditions. The Rose Ensemble is an internationally recognized choral ensemble.

Mayo Clinic Center for Humanities in Medicine integrates the arts, history and ethics in the medical environment to support the Mayo ideal that the needs of the patient come first. Harmony for Mayo provides weekly opportunities for patients, staff and the Rochester community to experience the music of talented artists. The series is made possible through a financial gift from Mr. and Mrs. Tomas Furth of Caracas, Venezuela and New York City. For more information, visit: www.mayoclinic.org/humanities-in-medicine.
