Mayo Clinic to Host the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports

What: Mayo Clinic will host the regular meeting of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Mayo Clinic physician Edward Laskowski, M.D. is a member of the council. The President's Council serves as a 20-member advisory committee of volunteer citizens who advises the President of the United States through the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services about physical activity, fitness and sports in America.

Background: The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports promotes, encourages and motivates the development of physical fitness and sports participation for Americans of all ages through its work with partners in government and the private sector. The council supports the president's HealthierUS initiative, which encourages Americans to be physically active every day.
