ROCHESTER, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health Solutions recently won awards in four classifications of the eHealthcare Leadership Awards, presented by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading industry publication.
Mayo Clinic's consumer health information site, www.MayoClinic.com, won two awards: a highest-honor platinum award for "best overall Internet site," and a gold award for "best site design" in the categories for consumer general health sites.
Mayo Clinic EmbodyHealth, a new personal health management portal for businesses and other organizations, won two awards: a platinum award for "best health/healthcare content," as well as an award for "best overall Internet site for the business/process improvement applications or products classification."
The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program recognizes the best Web sites and business improvement initiatives of a wide range of organizations. Judges compared sites with others in their classification and reviewed sites based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence. The 2007 eHealthcare Leadership Awards winners were chosen from more than 1,000 entries from online health companies, business improvement/vendor sites, large and small health care organizations, and pharmaceutical companies.
"Our entire team is pleased to receive these awards," says Roger Harms, M.D., medical editor-in-chief for MayoClinic.com. "These awards recognize our efforts to provide quality information and tools to help people lead healthier lives."
"We are proud to receive these prestigious awards," says Nicole Spelhaug, chief of product development for MayoClinic.com. "We have a great team of physicians and product development professionals who work closely together, and we believe the quality of our product is strengthened by that collaboration."
