SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Breeann Robinson, vice chair, Planning Services, at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, has been named a 2006 "Up and Comer" by Modern Healthcare magazine, considered the top professional journal in the field. Only 12 health care executives in the nation receive this honor. The award was announced in the Sept. 18, 2006, edition of the magazine.
To qualify for the award, nominees must be age 40 or younger and must be recognized as "young stars" in the health care field. In her role as vice chair, Planning Services, she facilitates Mayo Clinic's strategic, operational and business planning processes across all three Mayo sites - Arizona, Rochester, Minn., and Jacksonville, Fla.
Breeann, 31, earned a B.A. in English at the University of Missouri - Columbia, in 1996 and a Master of Health Administration degree, also from the University of Missouri - Columbia, in 1998. She joined Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., as an administrative trainee in 1998 and rapidly moved to other key positions at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
In her nomination, Breeann was described by Victor F. Trastek, M.D., CEO of Mayo Clinic in Arizona, as "a catalyst and critical success factor in developing Mayo's strategic vision and plan."
