People living with cancer, their families and friends are invited to a non-denominational weekend of renewal, inspiration and personal reflection at the annual fall Hilltop Retreat, Sept. 24 and 25.
The retreat will be held from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Charter House, 211 Second St., NW, Rochester, and will continue from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25. Mayo Clinic Cancer Center and Integrative Therapies sponsor the retreat.
Speakers will include Barbara Schroeder, a Mayo Clinic oncology clinical nurse specialist; JoAnn Lower, published author and professional storyteller; Mary Johnson, a Mayo Clinic chaplain; and Cynthia Chauhan and David Bartlett, cancer survivors. Their presentations will focus on tools for healing and resources available to people dealing with cancer. Time also will be allotted for solitude and personal reflection, small-group conversations and holistic therapy.
