Volunteer Opportunities Available at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — May 2, 2002 – Mayo Clinic Scottsdale began a successful volunteer program in 1990. Since that time, it has grown to more than 300 volunteers who assist patients and serve in a variety of capacities throughout the Clinic. Volunteer opportunities are available in more than 45 areas at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. Examples of service opportunities include:

  • Assisting customers in the Clinic Gift Shop
  • Escorting patients to various locations within the Clinic
  • Providing assistance and support for patients preparing for examinations
  • Visiting with patients and their families as they await treatment
  • Utilizing clinical and computer skills in office support

Mayo Clinic is a private group practice of medicine dedicated to providing diagnosis and treatment of patient illnesses through a systematic focus on individual patient needs. Mayo Clinic Scottsdale offers outpatient healthcare in 66 medical and surgical specialties and programs. Mayo Clinic also provides care at primary care practices located throughout the Valley and at the new Mayo Clinic Hospital. The hospital is located at 56th Street and Mayo Boulevard (north of Bell Road) in northeast Phoenix, and provides inpatient care to support the medical and surgical specialties of the Clinic.
