Mayo Clinic Neurosurgery is happy to work with physicians outside of Mayo Clinic on referral requests. A neurosurgeon is also available to discuss a possible referral.

Neurosciences Update

Neurosciences Update is a quarterly publications with brief educational articles of general interest written by Mayo neuologists and neurosurgeons.

Neurosurgery Residency Program

The Neurosurgery Department has had a residency training program since 1919. Residents are selected from an extremely competitive pool of applicants.

Residents participate in patient care during this educational process. They are under the active and close supervision of the neurosurgical staff members. Patients benefit from the active exchange of ideas and intellectual discourse that is an indispensable component of medical education. Most cases are discussed in conferences among many neurosurgeons and other specialists to ensure that patients benefit from their accumulated experience.
