Mayo Clinic doctors in the Division of Neuro-oncology evaluate and treat people with primary and secondary tumors of the brain, spinal cord, and the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord (meninges).
Doctors trained in neuro-oncology work closely with doctors trained in brain and nervous system surgery (neurosurgeons), cancer (medical oncologists) and the treatment of cancer with radiation (radiation oncologists). The group is actively involved in treatment protocols as a member of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology (Alliance).
Doctors also work with nurses trained in neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, radiation oncology, medical oncology and pediatric oncology.
