Neurology in Minnesota

Peripheral Nerve Subspecialty Group

Diseases of the peripheral nerves cause weakness, sensory loss, and pain in the extremities. The Peripheral Nerve Division at Mayo Clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral nerve disorders. A peripheral nerve pathology laboratory is active in reading nerve biopsies from Mayo and elsewhere. The Peripheral Nerve Division has active basic laboratory and clinical research programs which strive to understand the cause of peripheral nerve disorders and develop more effective therapies.
