Neuromuscular Disease Group
Neuromuscular disorders affect the function of muscles due to problems with the peripheral nervous system (muscles and nerves) rather than the brain and spinal cord. The most common symptom of these disorders is weakness. Neurologists in our group provide comprehensive evaluation of these disorders, electrodiagnostic studies (EMG) and muscle or nerve biopsy as needed. Our group is also active in laboratory and clinical research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with these disorders.
