Neurology in Minnesota

Multiple Sclerosis Subspecialty Group

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central nervous system that includes the brain, spinal cord and nerves. MS and related diseases are called demyelinating diseases because they result from damage to myelin (the insulating covering of nerves). Members of the multiple sclerosis group specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of demyelinating disorders. The group is also involved with laboratory research and clinical trials to better understand the cause of MS and to develop better treatments.
