Neurofibromatosis Type 1

Treatment in Minnesota

Specialists in Minnesota care for children and adults who have NF1 with the treatments described in these pages.

A special Neurofibromatosis Clinic within Medical Genetics in Minnesota coordinates care by a variety of specialists to stay ahead of complications that can develop with the disorder. Usually, appointments can be arranged such that all specialist evaluations occur within a one to two-day time frame. About 200 patients with neurofibromatosis are evaluated each year in the clinic, and all participating physicians have significant experience treating patients with neurofibromatosis.

The clinic brings together experts in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Medical Genetics, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery and Radiology. These and others specialists are available every day to see patients in the clinic.
