Myocarditis

Treatment in Minnesota

All diagnosis and treatment options described in these pages are available at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Approximately 2,100 patients were treated for dilated cardiomyopathy from 1991 to 2001 in the Heart Failure Clinic at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Many of these patients had a past history of myocarditis.

Mayo Clinic physicians developed a leading textbook on myocarditis, "Myocarditis: From Bench to Bedside," Humana Press Towtowa, New Jersey, 2002. The book provides comprehensive information over the spectrum of myocarditis, from basic research to patient management, and presents a platform for understanding the disease and current treatments for congestive heart failure, arrhythimias and premature cardiovascular death.
