Myasthenia Gravis

Treatment of Children

All the resources available for adult patients with myasthenia gravis are also available to diagnose and treat children and adolescents. An additional team member, a child neurologist with special expertise in myasthenia gravis, provides another layer of expertise for younger patients.

Specialists at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital myasthenias that is not available at other medical centers, including innovative treatment approaches to congenital myasthenia with various medications.

Treatment Team

Children with myasthenia gravis are treated by specialists with expertise in the disorder. These experts are from the departments of Neurology, Thoracic Surgery, Oncology, and the Division of Child and Adolescent Neurology.

For appointments or more information, call the Central Appointment Office at (507) 538-3270 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
