Multiple Sclerosis Center in Arizona

Overview

The staff in the Center for Multiple Sclerosis and CNS Demyelinating Diseases at Mayo Clinic in Arizona diagnoses and treats people who have multiple sclerosis (MS) and related disorders such as neuromyelitis optica, transverse myelitis and optic neuritis. Multiple sclerosis is a disease in which your body's immune system attacks the sheath covering your nerves (myelin). Neuromyelitis optica is also a demyelinating disease but differs in several ways from MS.

The center's staff provides a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan for people who have multiple sclerosis and related conditions. The staff works with you to address your needs and create a treatment plan to optimize your health.

Doctors trained in neurological diseases (neurologists), doctors trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation, doctors trained in urology, physical and occupational therapists, registered nurses, social workers and other specialists work as a team to evaluate and treat your condition. You may meet with a National Multiple Sclerosis Society representative and receive referrals for community resources.
