Elbow osteophytes

Radiographic and computerized tomography (CT) scans reveal formation of elbow osteophytes (arrow tip), an early sign of injury related to overuse. Posterior osteophytes impinge in extension. As they grow, they limit terminal extension and may eventually lead to a painful nonunion.
