Scientists at Mayo Clinic are exploring the fields of molecular and cellular biology and molecular genetics. Several of the research programs utilize gene transfer technology in studies of cancer, cystic fibrosis, lung disease, arthritis, early embryological development, allergies and asthma.
Basic science research is conducted in the Samuel C. Johnson Research Building, a 77,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility which opened in 1993.
