Air Ambulance — Mayo MedAir

Mayo MedAir provides safe, doctor-directed air medical travel so patients can receive medical care at the facility of their choice.

Destinations: Mayo MedAir medical teams fly worldwide, safely bringing patients to Mayo Clinic, other health care facilities or to their homes following care. Mayo MedAir has transported patients to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., from the 48 contiguous United States and more than 15 countries.

Availability: Mayo MedAir is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Aircraft, aviation crew and operations certificate are provided by AirMed International.

Requesting a Flight: Contact the Mayo Emergency Communications Center at 800-237-6822 (toll-free in the U.S.) or 507-255-2808. Communications specialists can answer your questions about Mayo MedAir and arrange all aspects of your travel, including help in coordinating appointments.

Cost: Most insurance plans do not cover air ambulance service, regardless of your chosen provider. Mayo MedAir will provide a cost estimate when you call and attempt to work with your insurer when appropriate. In most cases, full payment is required at the time of service.

Mayo MedAir is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services, the industry's most respected stamp-of-approval for all aspects of air safety and quality.
