Lodging Resources

Some health insurance companies cover lodging costs, such as housing or meals. Some insurance, such as Medical Assistance, assists with lodging costs when traveling to get care is a medical necessity.

Many local hotels/motels offer a "clinic rate" for patients who must travel and stay for medical reasons. These rates include a small discount to Mayo Clinic patients. Read more about lodging in Rochester.

Most hotels in Rochester offer free shuttles that run from the hotel to Mayo Clinic buildings. Patients should ask about the hotel's shuttle schedule when making reservations. Most hotel shuttles are handicap accessible; if this is a need, please inquire at the hotel.

In addition to local hotels, community resources are available that may meet patient and family lodging needs. These services include:

  • Furnished short-term apartments located close to Mayo Clinic
  • RV parks and campgrounds
