Guide to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona

The information on this page may be helpful to you during your visit to the hospital. If you have a question not addressed here, please ask the hospital's Information Desk staff.

Cafeteria
Meals are available in the Cafeteria located on the first floor. Hot entrees, sandwiches, salad bar and soup are available for lunch and dinner. Fresh-baked muffins and cookies are available daily.

The cafeteria is open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and from midnight to 3:00 a.m.

  • Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Grill Items: 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Midnight. to 3 a.m.

Vending machines and microwave ovens are also available in various locations throughout the Hospital.

Chaplain Services
Hospital chaplains are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to offer counseling and comfort to patients and their families. A chapel, located on the first floor next to the atrium lobby, is always open for prayer and quiet reflection. For more information about chaplain services, call 2-1124 from the Hospital campus or 480-342-1124 from off site.

Copy Service and Fax Service
A copy machine is located in the Visitor Support Center on the first floor. Visitors can request fax services in Admissions.

Directional Assistance/Escorts
Security staff members are available to accompany you to and from your vehicle 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To arrange for this service while on campus, call 2-0576. Once inside the hospital, General Service staff members are available at the Information Desk from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., to provide directions or escort you to a patient room.

Gift Shop
The Mayo Clinic Hospital Gift Shop is located on the first floor. The Gift Shop is open from October through May during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m
  • Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m

The Gift Shop is open during limited hours from June through September.

Local Points of Interest
Various brochures are available in the Visitor Support Center, including information about local attractions and area hotels.

Mail and Stamps
A box for U.S. Mail is located outside the main entrance to the hospital. A stamp machine is located in the Visitor Support Center.

Nature Trail
We invite you to share in the beauty and mystery of our Sonoran Desert environment. On the east side of the hospital, we've created a Nature Trail where you can take a quiet walk and a closer look at the life of the desert.

Parking

  • Patient and visitor parking is available on the north side of the hospital in parking lots A and B (refer to map). Parking for patients and visitors is complimentary and parking passes are not required.
  • Handicapped parking spaces are located throughout the hospital campus. All entrances to the hospital are wheelchair accessible.
  • Parking for the Emergency Department is available across the driveway from the Emergency entrance.
  • A list of campgrounds and RV parks is available from General Services or Security upon request.

Pharmacy
For the convenience of our patients, we offer outpatient pharmacies at the clinic and hospital. Prescriptions from Mayo Clinic physicians can be filled at either one of these pharmacies. Preparation materials for tests and examinations may also be purchased.

At the hospital, the Pharmacy is located on the first floor. The hospital Pharmacy is open during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m

Mayo Clinic Specialty Pharmacy helps patients with serious chronic diseases (such as multiple sclerosis and hemophilia) manage their medications.

Public Restrooms
Public restrooms are located in the atrium and on each floor of the hospital in close proximity to the visitors' elevators. Restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Please do not use patient restrooms. Baby changing tables are available in some of the public restrooms.

Public Telephones
Public pay phones are located on every floor of the Hospital and near every visitor waiting area.

Smoking Policy
The building and grounds of Mayo Clinic Hospital are designated as smoke-free. Smoking is not permitted in the Hospital, on the grounds or in vehicles on the grounds because we are committed to the prevention, as well as diagnosis and treatment, of disease.

Visiting Hours
General Hospital visiting hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., unless otherwise specified based upon specific patient and family needs. Quiet time is observed in the Hospital from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Visiting hours for the Intensive Care Unit are 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 8 to 11 p.m.
