Magnetic resonance elastogram

Image of magnetic resonance elastogram

Elastograms of a normal liver (top) and a fibrotic liver (bottom), validated by biopsy. An elastogram reveals soft, healthy tissue and stiff, diseased tissue to create images that are processed into a color scale. These color-coded images show how internal structures would "feel" to the touch. The color scale ranges from purple — the softest, to red — the stiffest.
