The Liver Transplant Program at Mayo Clinic can help identify financial concerns. A consultation with a coordinator is part of the transplant evaluation process. In general, we are able to work with most insurers to secure coverage for a transplant. The coordinator also can assist with insurance coverage for air-ambulance service, home health care and long-term housing, when appropriate. Insurance coverage and reimbursement vary from insurer to insurer and policy to policy, so the financial coordinator is an important asset for patients.
