Surgeons at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota performed 124 liver transplants in 2011. More than 2,268 transplants have been performed since the program began in 1985. Transplants for adults generally take place at Rochester Methodist Hospital, while transplants for children always take place at Saint Marys Hospital. Both hospitals are part of Mayo Clinic.
