Liver Transplant

Treatment in Minnesota

A multidisciplinary team approach to health care, experienced staff and quality facilities at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota contribute to patient survival rates above national averages for liver transplants.

The Mayo Clinic William J. von Liebig Transplant Center consolidates all transplant programs (liver, kidney, pancreas, islet cell, heart, lung, blood and marrow), facilitating multidisciplinary cooperation and integrated care.

The liver transplant program combines the expertise of doctors in the Transplant Center, as well as nephrology, infectious diseases, radiology and other specialties.

Transplants for adults generally take place at Rochester Methodist Hospital, while transplants for children always take place at Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital, part of Saint Marys Hospital. All hospitals are part of Mayo Clinic.

The Gift of Life Transplant House offers a home away from home for Mayo transplant patients.
