After your liver transplant, you should make exercise and physical activity a regular part of your life to continue to improve your health and fitness. Exercising regularly helps you control your weight, strengthen your bones, improve your physical functioning and increase your energy.
Your treatment team may work with you to set up a routine exercise program to meet your needs. Immediately after your transplant, you should walk as much as you can. As you recover, you can slowly increase your physical activity. Refrain from lifting more than 15 pounds (6.8 kg) during the three months after your transplant.
