Hepatocellular carcinoma develops in hepatocyte cells (outer layer of the liver) and is the most common liver malignancy.
Fibrolamellar carcinoma is a condition in which malignant hepatocyte cells (outer layer) are intersected by fibrous bands.
Cholangiocarcinoma develops in the small bile ducts within the liver (bile duct cancer).
