Liver cancer

Research

Mayo Clinic researchers are studying drugs and other therapies as part of an ongoing commitment to discover better treatments for people with liver and bile duct cancers. For example, Mayo is pioneering a treatment technique called MRI-guided laser ablation, which uses a laser to destroy the tumor.

Mayo also maintains a cancer registry, which contains medical information for people with liver cancer treated at the clinic. This information helps researchers develop tests to detect liver and bile duct cancers in the earliest, most treatable stage.

Publications

See a list of publications by Mayo Clinic doctors on liver cancer on PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine.
